Mike Kinzer grew up in a small town in Central Illinois, spending a lot time working with his father on various construction and electrical projects. Mike joined the Army Reserve while in high school and began his military adventure as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. That has led around the world to include serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. He recently changed his Military Specialty to Civil Affairs, joined the ranks of the Airborne and became a Jumpmaster. Mike attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and spent a year abroad at the U of I Ecoles d ‘Architecture in Versailles, France. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s of Architecture with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
Mike joined CTS in January 2005 as a Structural Designer. He was promoted to Project Manager in 2020. Over the years, Mike has worked on various building types ranging from tenant improvements to large scale apartment complexes. He works primarily with Multifamily Housing and enjoys the opportunities that each individual project presents. He strives to find new ways to improve efficiency and constructability and creative ways to solve the challenges that come with every project.
Personal: I enjoy woodworking and metal working and like DYI projects. I spend a lot of time training with my Army Reserve Unit and enjoy the time and camaraderie with those that I have had the pleasure to serve with.
