“I’m gonna make the rest of my life, the best of my life.”
I am a native of Wisconsin, and at the age of 15 years I started working for my Grandfather’s construction company as an apprentice. Over the years, I worked my way up in responsibility, so when my Grandfather and then my Father passed away, my brother and I became the sole owners of the business. I chose to handle the business development, real estate investing and marketing services while my brother oversaw the construction end of the business. In 1979-80 we decided to sell the business and move west to leave the below zero weather behind.
In 1981 I moved my family to Arizona and I started with Kitchell Contractors as a Project Director of Pre-Construction/ Marketing. After 3 years, I accepted an opportunity with McCarthy Construction as a Senior Vice President in Pre-Construction/ Marketing, where I remained for 11 years. I changed direction in 1994 and went to work for a structural engineering firm, managing their business development for over 25 years.
I accepted an invitation to work with the well-respected Caruso Turley Scott Structural Engineers in April 2020. The challenges that clients and prospective clients put in front of me is still intriguing. Working with all of the various companies and learning about what each client is looking for is enjoyable and I thrive on reaching mutual understanding and agreement.
Personal: Over the years I have enjoyed many outdoor activities; water skiing, fishing, snow skiing, and tennis. Our family also likes to spend a week in San Diego on the beach. I am an avid reader, enjoy classical music, achieved a 3rd Degree Registered Black Belt with the American Tae Kwon Do Federation, and I like to keep my eye on the stock market.
