Professional Mantra:
Outstanding Service and Continuous Improvement
Chris Atkinson is a senior partner of Caruso Turley Scott; he joined the firm as an entry-level engineer in 1985, earning his partner status in 1997. Chris developed an affinity for structural design, the resulting construction, and the final finished building product. He passionately serves clients to the best of his ability, on projects of all sizes, while continuously evaluating lessons learned from previous projects to improve future performance.
Growing up in Winslow, AZ, Chris was inherently curious about how things worked, building model rockets, and tinkering with motorcycles. In school, he enjoyed math and science leading to his study of engineering at the University of Arizona.
Chris has a zeal for challenging structural projects with the goal of identifying the “what if’s” early on, in order to streamline the design process and minimize challenges. During the design process, he appreciates partnering with architectural team members to develop the details that make each project unique. When possible, he encourages early collaboration with a contractor and structural subcontractors to provide enhanced project outcomes.
Personal: Family, Faith, and Friends serve as my three pillars of support. Favorite times include travel with my wife, son, and daughter; experiencing new places, cultures and architecture. At Church I have the opportunity to serve in various roles, most satisfying is as an adult leader working with high school students. I enjoy spending time with friends, whether it is catching a movie, hiking, or just getting together for dinner or drinks.
